Who is Jameson Forsythe on General Hospital?
In what was an otherwise slow week on General Hospital, the soap turned things around with Friday’s episode and left us asking, is Austin dead? That wasn’t the only question the show served up this week. Plus, how adorable were Cody and Sasha?
What a Friday Cliffhanger!
Let’s face it, Austin hasn’t worked as a character since day one. This has nothing to do with Roger Howarth, who I adore, and everything to do with the terrible decision to kill off Franco and bring the actor in as a character nobody asked for. Even though at one point I was really enjoying him and Ava working together, even that went south when they changed his boss up to be Cyrus, and that he knew Nikolas was alive all along.

On Thursday, Ava told him off for being a pathetic little coward and showed him the door, clearly ending anything that could have been between them. With nothing left, he offered to give up Cyrus to Dante if he would be protected from prosecution, oh and Cyrus. But that didn’t happen, as in Friday’s episode, someone shot Austin at his home in Pautauk! My first thought was obviously it was Cyrus, but they made a point not to show the shooter. And Austin seemed genuinely surprised to see who it was in his house. Given it was a man’s boots, it wasn’t Ava either. Could it have been Nikolas?

Charlotte Needs Help, Not Protecting
Valentin and Nina have finally started to realize they did Charlotte no favors by covering for her. And while they took her to Kevin, it was a little too late. As much as I love Laura, I know she wanted to protect her grandaughter too, but she’s also the mayor and had an obligation to protect Anna. And now Anna has jumped on the “protect Charlotte at all costs” bandwagon. A lot of that is because of her guilt in shooting a child, but this child needs serious help. Shady Brook, get a room ready for Charlotte!
Who Burned Down Anna’s House?
With Anna discovering all the evidence she had on this former crooked WSB agent Jameson Forsyth missing, it’s starting to look like he may have been the culprit who burned Anna’s house down. After all, we did see what looked like a grown man’s shoes setting the fire. Maybe he was trying to destroy the evidence she had, and Charlotte used the fire to simply vandalize her front door. I’m gonna just toss a theory out there that Jameson Forsythe is also Michael’s contact at the SEC. Anna mentioned he was still involved in the security business. Could he also have been who shot Austin? There is a connection between the black shoes… But what is his connection to Austin?

Ned’s Back! Unfortunately So Is the Battle for ELQ
The nightmare that is Eddie Maine finally ended, and it didn’t take Ned long to remember Nina turned Carly and Drew in to the SEC. Naturally, he wanted to expose Nina and clear his name, but Olivia of all people talked him out of it as everyone was at peace. Oh Olivia, if you only knew Michael and Drew are already once again scheming against Ned to get control of ELQ then you might think differently.
Even though I find the ELQ storylines mind-numbingly boring, I could find myself mildly invested in this one because at the end of the day, Ned has the ammo to blow Drew and Carly’s minds by revealing the truth, and then Nina will blow Michael out of the water for blackmailing her and knowing the truth for weeks or months and keeping it a secret. Messy, messy, messy! And while I’d like to believe Willow might find herself conflicted, after Friday’s episode, it will likely be more of the same… everyone will forgive Michael and move on. Willow was the latest to echo the same ole same ole… “The SEC charges were so unfair! Drew didn’t deserve to go to jail! Carly didn’t deserve to lose everything!”

Shipping Sasha and Cody
Aside from Austin getting shot, overall, it was a fairly dull week. However, Sasha and Cody were the bright spots. Even that awful Haven couldn’t deny their chemistry and that they were golden together on camera. Maxie’s reaction to Sasha’s admission that she had feelings for Cody… “That’s okay, he has feelings for you too!” was adorable. It seems like the show has finally found something to do with Maxie’s character after all this time, and that’s helping to bring Sasha and Cody together! And while I was sad they didn’t leap into one another’s arms, we know it’s eventually coming. As Sasha put it, it’s not no forever, it’s no for now. Dare we hope for a holiday miracle? If anyone deserves some happiness this holiday season, it’s Sasha. And speaking of the holidays here is hoping they bring Cody and Mac together as well.
Final Stray Thoughts
So Finn is being sued for malpractice along with General Hospital. Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? This just seems like another attempt to make the audience support Finn and Liz as a couple.
Are we to assume Adam has been taking speed to get through the semester? This is starting to feel like one of those afterschool specials in the eighties, or a very special episode of Family Ties, The Facts of Life, Mr. Belvedere…
Molly’s surrogate has lost the baby, or has she? Why did she go to another hospital? Will TJ follow through to check to see if she went there? Or is Andrea going to try and keep the baby? Or maybe this is to get back to the original storyline and Kristina will be their surrogate? An even better question is, do the writers think anyone cares about this story?

When Trina brought up her old feelings for Cam while discussing Spencer with Curtis and Marshall, a part of me hoped that was a clue that Cam would be making an appearance soon. Perhaps for the holidays? So many fans have jumped the ‘Sprina’ ship at this point and feel she deserves so much better.
That’s all I’ve got as far as my thoughts and opinions on this week’s episodes of General Hospital. As always, leave yours in the comments below!
