Corrections officer at SCI Houtzdale was planning to sell drugs to inmates
CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Investigators with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections say a corrections officer at SCI Houtzdale is facing charges after planning to bring contraband to the prison in exchange for money last week.
Investigators say the DOC was told by a confidential informant that Marvin Harris Jr. was coordinating with an inmate to bring Suboxone and papers soaked with synthetic cannabinoids to the prison in exchange for $2,500.
They say Harris was also in contact with a person outside of the prison that would help make the payment.
They say Harris also used a DOC phone system to make the arrangements.
His charges include conspiracy and criminal use of a communication facility.
