Tate and Holly ages - Days of Our Lives

I’m fine with SORAs but today, Theresa said that Tate is only 16. Tate was born BEFORE Holly. Now we are supposed to believe he is younger and the timeline is completely changed? Tate was already born when Brady snuck Nicole and Holly to Canada.

I can’t help but laugh. Please don’t let me get started on SORAsing on Days. Makes my head hurt!! for gosh sakes, Sami birthed Will, but was babysitting EJ, but then she and EJ married and EJ became Will’s stepfather. Although Will was smarter with computers and showed EJ a thing or two back when google was still young

I didn’t catch that about Tate being only 16. EJ said that Tate was “almost an adult”, so I assumed he was close to 18. Now they are saying he’s younger than Holly?

It’s best not to think too much about this sort of stuff. On GH, the character Molly Lansing-Davis was born the same year range as Cameron Webber and Spencer Cassadine. As a matter of fact, Cameron was born about a year before her. By the time Molly had finished college, the other two were still in high school.

Theresa told EJ that Tate is only 16. I was shocked because he is supposed to be older than Holly. IIRC, Nicole said Holly was 15 not too long ago before she suddenly turned 17.

It has always been a thing on SOAPS. There is just really that much material to write after the child is born they determine their paternity or they are kiddnapped to when they become an adult. I also think for the children that remain young they sometimes are kept young because of the actress playing mom. I do not blame them who wants to be the mother of 8 year old at home and all of sudden have a 20 year old on screen. But unless you get an actress like the girl playing Rachel there really is not much SL to give them. They have Charolette and Thomas on but they do not speak for the most part.

And then today…Eric mentions he caused Daniel’s death 8 years ago making Holly 9 when he died. I guess we need to forget the whole Chloe getting the embryo transfer after Daniel died and not telling Nicole storyline.

They also said that Holly has been through so much, she lost her dad… no, she didn’t. She was born from a test tube, long after her bio dad, Daniel, had already been killed in a car accident when Eric (of all people) hit him after drinking.

By the way, WTH is Parker?? He was already about five when I started watching the show full-time in late 2014, then off he went. He should LEGIT be Holly and Tate’s age now. But I guess Days can no longer afford to have a teen scene anymore, and has to cap their budget at two actors, lol.

No offense to you, and you are simply saying what many others are saying, so I am just responding to the ideas themselves. But these all just sound like dumb excuses. And it has gotten to the point where nothing makes sense anymore. Are we supposed to believe that in less than sixty years Tom Horton’s son already had a daughter, who had another daughter, who had two other children, one of which is soon ready for high school (especially at this rate)? The Horton’s weren’t a family from the World War, but rather in the VIETNAM War era… they need to pump the brakes on the SORASing, but really it’s just another symptom of the show soon folding.

They jumped the ages way too much. Daniel didn’t die twenty years ago, not even close, for chrissakes. But that’s why they probably killed off his sister. They want us to forget Summer ever existed too. Whole storylines and years we waste watching that they just backtrack, rewrite, wipe out, retcon. Why bother watching a soap, which the whole point is building on history, if you just retool the whole she-bang every decade now?

But the way I see it, there is simply NO NEED for any of this. They could have just kept everyone’s ages as they are for the most part. If they don’t care then why should I (as in care and watch)?

Days is the worst when it comes to aging kids. Thomas is technically older than both of them and the character is still a little boy. I also see no point to aging Holly and Tate. There are no other teens to interact with. It’s just the two of them. I might understand if the show was trying to have a teen scene. Like the last blast crew, but two teens viewers barely saw as kids, who cares about that?

I thought “I” was crazy. I thought that’s what they said when Holly first showed up. It seemed like only a couple of years ago she was in “Rosemary’s baby’s baby carriage”. I’m kinda glad she’s older. She wasn’t my favorite child actress (she kinda just sat there a lot. Almost zero lines). But that was soooo yesterday.
