Abraham Talbert, age 22, was arrested shortly after 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 11 for the murder of Jaquan Tahir Saez, age 21.
The body of Saez was found in the late afternoon of Monday, March 20, by a park-goer at John J. Boccuzzi Park in Stamford, located at 200 Southfield Ave.
Talbert was developed as a suspect during a three-month-long investigation that involved hundreds of hours of investigation by the department’s Major Crimes Unit culminating in a significant amount of video and forensic evidence, said Capt. Tom Scanlon, of the Stamford Police.
The investigation determined that a physical altercation took place resulting in Talbert killing Saez, of Stamford, while the two were in the park during the early morning hours of Sunday, March 19.
Talbert, also a resident of Stamford, is currently under arrest for the charge of murder, with a $1 million dollar court-set bond.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Stamford Superior Court on Wednesday, July 12.
"The Stamford Police Department would like to commend the numerous officers involved in this lengthy investigation and express our sincerest condolences to the family of Jaquan Tahir Saez," Scanlon said.
