Methuen Brunch Spot Closes After Years Of Making Customers Feel Like Family

Publish date: 2024-07-25

Savastano's, located on Merrimack Street in Methuen, announced that the brunch restaurant would close permanently on Friday, June 30 via a Facebook post.

The eatery, known for its home-cooked breakfasts and lunches, opened only months before the COVID-19 pandemic began necessitating non-essential business closures.

It shut down for three months in 2020 and never recovered, according to the Facebook post.

The closure is not due to a lack of regulars, according to the post and messages left by fans of the restaurant.

"Everyone loves our product, and if they have come here they mostly have come back," the owners wrote.

"I’m so sad to hear this news," wrote a commenter on the Facebook pose. "We love coming to your restaurant. We will definitely come again before the 30th."

"Your food was made with love and it showed," reads another comment. "That must have been such a difficult decision to have to make. I know you poured your heart into making your dream come to life."

The restaurant will continue to serve breakfast and lunch, and is available for catering orders, through Friday, June 30.

"It is going to be hard to say goodbye but, it is the best decision we have available at this point," the post read. "We would like to thank all of the staff that is or has been a part of our journey. We especially want to thank each and every customer that has graced us with your presence."
