Several Bags Of Heroin Found On Woman During Springfield Traffic Stop: Police
Officers were observing a vehicle being driven without a front license plate in Springfield around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, Springfield Police report. The car also did not have a valid inspection sticker, police added.
Officers attempted a traffic stop as the car turned on Main Street from Broad Street but the driver, later identified as Willie Bridges, did not stop right away.
When Bridges did stop about two blocks later, officers learned that Bridges did not have a license. Police also found crack-cocaine on Bridges and placed him under arrest, the department added.
Bridges' passenger, Megan Digregorio, had several bags of heroin on her and she was placed under arrest as well, according to police. Officers also found a loaded gun inside the vehicle.
Bridges, of Springfield, was charged with the following:
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Dangerous Weapon while having an Active Warrant
- Firearm Violation with 3 Prior/Violent Drug Crimes
- Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License
- Failure to Stop for Police
- Possession of a Class B Drug
- Default Warrant – Trespassing
- Number Plate Violation
- No Inspection Sticker
Digregorio, also of Springfield, was charged with the following:
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
- Carrying a Dangerous Weapon while having an Active Warrant
- Possession of a Class A Drug
- Arrest Warrant – Palmer District Court on Possession of a Class A Drug and Possession of a Class B Drug
