GH Vet, Shell Kepler Passed Away

Publish date: 2024-08-30

Longtime GH fans will remember Kepler's wonderful portrayal of Laura Spencer's gossipy little sister Amy. She was a contract player from 1979 to 2001 and remained on recurring status. Jackie Zeman (Bobbie Spencer) told Soaps.com the following about her dear friend: "Shell was always generous with her time, energy, and creativity. She had a beautifulhome and she loved to have her family and friends come over. She created a warm and loving atmosphere and she would cook incredible meals and make sure everyone was happy and taken care of. She enjoyed designing and making gifts of clothing and art. In addition to her acting she was also an
artist. Shell was a good friend to me and to my daughters, Cassidy and Lacey. We miss her presence in our lives and we treasure the memories of the good and happy times we shared."

In addition to GH, Shell appeared on "Three's Company", "CHiPs" and GH spin-off, "Port Charles" during her career. She was twice divorced and is survived by her brother. Soaps.com would like to express our sincere condolences to her brother and all of her loving fans.

It is with heavy heart that Soaps.com shares the sad news of the passing of Shell Kepler (Nurse Amy Vining). According to the General Hospital Fan Club, Ms. Kepler died of renal failure shortly after being admitted to a hospital in Portland, Oregon, on February 1. She was 49 years young and had been living in Portland for years, working as a charity fund raiser. Since leaving GH, Shell showed her entrepreneurial spirit by creating her own clothing and accessories line. The line did so well that at one time, it was on one of Forbes Magazine’s highly coveted “Top” lists.
