Fred Rosen Steps Down At Outbox
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Fred Rosen has reportedly left his post as CEO at the Los Angeles-based ticketing start-up Outbox.
According to the Wrap, individual investors close to Rosen reported that he stepped aside voluntarily, and will remain on Outbox's board of directors. Rosen's exit leaves his co-CEO Jean-Francois Brousseau to helm the company.
Outbox provides the technology that underlies AEG's axs ticketing service.
"He didn’t want to work day to day anymore. He’s 68 years old. He continues to own a significant equity interest, he’s still on the board. He got tired of getting on airplanes," the unnamed investor told The Wrap.
Rosen played a primary role in the 1980s in helping Ticketmaster to develop into the dominant player in the ticketing industry and again made waves in 2010 when he partnered with AEG, Cirque du Soleil and Brousseau to found Outbox, an upstart rival to his former company.
Rosen made bold claims about Outbox last year, telling the New York Times that the company would generate $1 billion in sales and employ 500 people within a span of just three years. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
