Father, Son Launch High-End Liquor Store At New Fort Lee Shopping Center

Jake Lee, who owns the shop with his father, Janghan Lee, said the new 7,200-square-foot location on Hudson Street will be a more high-end wine and spirit shop that fits the profile of Hudson Lights.

"We see Hudson Lights as a change in our business toward fine wines and hard- to-find goods," Lee, 42, told Daily Voice. "We think we will be able to capitalize on the buzz of the new shopping center and get a lot more visibility."

Balvenie 50 Year, a scotch that retails at $38,000, and Domaine Romanee Conti -- a $3,000 bottle of wine -- are examples of the types of products the new Linwood Wine & Liquor location will carry, Lee said.

"In here we don't really have a space to put out a $38,000 bottle of scotch," Lee said. "Our new space will be able to accommodate that."

Despite the pricier products, Lee says the new store will not be high-brow.

"What has made us successful is that we try to make our customers comfortable approaching wine and liquor," Lee said. "You know what you like but you may have a hard time articulating it.

"We're here to match you with the right goods."
