BG3 Gale Best Feats
Gale is a Human Wizard possible companion and Origin character in Baldur’s Gate 3. You can choose to play as him, or to have him as a member of your party. In either case, being a Wizard, he is one of the most powerful characters you can have in Baldur’s Gate III. Though, this greatly depends on how you build him. His spell selection, gear, and, of course – the feats you select for him. This is because the right feat can make him even more potent. As such, it’s very important that you select only the best feats for Gale in BG3, and we are going to list all of the best feat choices for him right here.

Being a Wizard, Gale has a lot more viable options when it comes to feats than most character classes. The easiest choice would be to simply get Ability Improvement, and then put both points into Intelligence. As INT is the primary spellcasting stat for Wizards, this will greatly benefit him in the long run. The most important part of any Wizard is to make sure that his spells hit and overcome enemies’ resistances, and a higher INT does precisely that. Of course, you could also always go for the Elemental Adept. This casues spells of a specific damage type to ignore the enemy’s resistance. You can choose which damage type this is going to be, so choose wisely. Additionally, you can’t roll a critical fail (1) when casting those spells. Depending on your spell selection, it can be a very powerful feat.

At early levels you need all the help you can get with spells and overcoming Saving Throws, and a better Intelligence score is going to help you do exactly that.

Spell Sniper provides you with an additional cantrip, but much more importantly – it improves your chances of scoring a Critical Hit with spells. And, finally, Lucky. Select this is going to give you three Luck Points. This is a rechargable resource that you can use to – among other things – gain an advantage on your Attack Rolls. Since the Wizard relies on making sure that their spells connect to their intended targets, this is a great way to ensure that you will hit and damage the enemy.
For Level 8, we’d go either with the Spell Sniper, or with the Elemental Adept. It all comes down to what you prefer – ignoring resistance and not being able to fail critically, or an additional spell and better odds of scoring a Critical Hit. Depending on your playstyle and strategy, both of these can work wonders.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Best Feats for Gale at Level 12
For the last feat, the best course of action is to once again select Ability Improvement. This will take your INT all the way up to 20, and you will have an Ability Point left to allocate to another stat (we recommend Dexterity). The safest bet is to always try and get your primary stat as high as you possibly can, and 20 INT will give you excellent spellcasting potential. Of course, you can always go for either the Elemental Adept or Spell Sniper instead – whichever one you didn’t pick at Level 8. The Wizard is an incredibly powerful class, and at Level 12 you will have a variety of deadly spells that will make short work of most enemies.
