PSP IDs victim of fatal crash in Barr Township

Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — State police have identified the victim of Monday's fatal crash in Barr Township.
Investigators say 48-year-old Shawn Weiland, of Clymer, was killed when his SUV traveled off of Route 553, down an embankment and struck several trees.
Authorities say the crash occurred just before 10 a.m. and closed the roadway for an extended period of time.
Police say Weiland was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police and the Cambria County coroner's office are investigating the crash.

911 officials in Cambria County say the coroner has been called to the scene of a vehicle crash in Barr Township.
Dispatchers say the crash occurred around 9:45 a.m. in the area of Alverda Road and Killen School Road.
Authorities have not yet confirmed how many vehicles were involved in the crash and if any other injuries were reported.
Officials say crews from Nicktown and Carrolltown were still on scene as of 10:15 a.m.
State police are investigating the crash.
